Synopsis

RedBus has introduced NOVA, India's first integrated B2B marketplace designed to modernise the intercity bus sector. The platform connects over 6,000 bus operators with verified vendors offering technology, safety systems, and operational tools at discounts ranging from 20-40 per cent. Integrated with redPro, operators can access procurement, analytics, and dashboards in one interface. During its pilot phase, more than 100 operators have already engaged with the platform. NOVA is expected to improve transparency, reduce operational costs, and support small and mid sized transport businesses in a fragmented market.

RedBus has launched NOVA, an integrated B2B online marketplace aimed at modernising India's intercity bus industry. The platform creates a single digital space where bus operators can find and procure products and services from trusted vendors, making procurement more streamlined and efficient.

The marketplace connects more than 6,000 bus operators with verified vendors providing a wide range of solutions. These include technology products, safety systems, and operational tools such as CCTV cameras, alcohol testing meters, driver monitoring systems, passenger announcement systems, onboard diagnostics, safety audits, and driver training services. Many of these products and services are offered at discounts of 20-40 per cent, helping smaller operators access quality solutions at lower costs.

NOVA integrates with redPro, redBus cloud-based analytics platform, allowing operators to combine procurement with operational insights. Operators can track orders, manage fleets, and view dashboards within the same interface, helping them plan and manage operations more efficiently. The marketplace is also designed to ensure timely payments to vendors, enhancing reliability and reducing administrative challenges.

The intercity bus sector in India is estimated to be valued at around INR 47,443 crore. During NOVA's pilot phase, over 100 operators have placed orders, reflecting early adoption and the platform's potential to scale quickly. By listing only verified vendors, redBus aims to address long-standing challenges in the sector, including fragmented sourcing, inconsistent product quality, and delayed settlements.

Prakash Sangam, CEO of redBus, explained that NOVA is designed to empower both operators and vendors. The platform provides smaller suppliers and start-ups the opportunity to reach a wider customer base while enabling operators to access advanced technology, safety solutions, and operational support in one place.
