Synopsis

Omaxe Ltd. has announced Omaxe Chowk, Ludhiana, a large mixed-use development combining high-street retail and luxury residences at Ghumar Mandi, one of the city's key shopping and wedding hubs. Spread across 5.25 acres with an investment of INR 500 crore, the project aims to offer a more organised and comfortable alternative to traditional markets while keeping Ludhiana's shopping culture intact. The development will feature premium retail, jewellery and wedding stores, fashion brands, dining and entertainment, including a dedicated food and experience zone called Dawatpur. With strong road access, ample parking and pedestrian-friendly design, Omaxe Chowk is planned as a long-term urban destination, scheduled for completion by June 2030.

Omaxe Ltd., one of India's leading real estate developers, has unveiled plans for Omaxe Chowk, Ludhiana, a modern mixed-use destination combining high-street retail and luxury residential living. Located at Ghumar Mandi, a prominent commercial and wedding shopping precinct, the development is designed as an integrated urban hub that blends commerce, lifestyle and community spaces within a single, well-planned environment.


Spread across around 5.25 acres, Omaxe Chowk represents an investment of INR 500 crore and is being developed on land secured through a competitive bidding process. The project is planned as a structured alternative to traditional market areas, offering improved comfort, accessibility and organisation while retaining alignment with Ludhiana's established shopping culture. The development reflects a broader shift in urban consumption patterns, where retail destinations are increasingly viewed as social and experiential spaces rather than purely transactional ones.

Omaxe Chowk will feature a curated mix of premium retail outlets, wedding and jewellery showrooms, fashion brands, destination dining and entertainment zones. A flagship food and experience zone, Dawatpur, is planned as a key attraction, alongside organised retail offerings aimed at both local consumers and non-resident Indians who frequently visit Ludhiana for wedding and occasion-led purchases. Brand participation details are expected to be announced closer to launch.

The project has been designed with strong emphasis on accessibility and visitor convenience. With two-side frontage from Rani Jhansi Road and College Road, Omaxe Chowk will benefit from enhanced visibility and ease of access. Planned infrastructure includes wide access roads, multiple entry and exit points, structured internal circulation, pedestrian-friendly walkways and parking capacity for over 1,000 cars, addressing long-standing congestion challenges in traditional market areas. Heritage-inspired architecture combined with contemporary design elements is intended to create a destination that is both functional and experiential.

Beyond retail and residential offerings, Omaxe Chowk is expected to generate significant employment during construction and create long-term jobs across retail, food and beverage, security and facility management. Scheduled for delivery by June 2030, the project is envisioned as a long-term urban asset that supports Ludhiana's growth while integrating organised commerce with quality luxury living.
