Synopsis

E To E Transportation Infrastructure Ltd has secured an INR 20.6 crore contract from Southern Railway's Thiruvananthapuram division for signalling and telecommunication works at Kumbalam station, linked to the Ernakulam Kumbalam and Kumbalam Turavur doubling projects. The contract, awarded through competitive bidding, requires a 5% performance guarantee and is to be executed within a year. Work includes indoor and outdoor signalling, asset relocation, and capacity augmentation on both sections. This follows a similar recent contract with South Central Railway, marking the company's growing footprint in railway infrastructure projects.

E To E Transportation Infrastructure Ltd, a system integration and engineering solutions company for the railway sector, has won an INR 20.6 crore contract from Southern Railway's Thiruvananthapuram division for signalling and telecommunication work at Kumbalam station. The contract was awarded through competitive bidding and must be completed within 12 months of receiving the acceptance letter, which the company obtained earlier this week.

Under the agreement, the company is required to provide a performance guarantee of 5% of the contract value, approximately INR 1.02 crore, within 21 days of the letter of acceptance. The project includes both Stage I and Stage II works at Kumbalam station as part of capacity augmentation along the Ernakulam Kumbalam and Kumbalam Turavur sections.

The scope covers installation and maintenance of indoor and outdoor signalling systems and telecommunication arrangements, as well as shifting signalling and telecom assets between Kumbalam and Turavur stations to enable engineering works for the doubling project. These upgrades are part of broader efforts to improve operational efficiency and rail capacity on the southern sections of the network.

This contract follows a previous signalling and telecommunication order from South Central Railway, valued at around INR 60.7 crore, involving installation, testing, and commissioning of automatic block signalling systems. Together, these projects have expanded E To E Transportation Infrastructure's portfolio and reinforced its position in supporting Indian Railways modernisation and capacity enhancement initiatives.

The Southern Railway contract reflects ongoing efforts by Indian Railways to upgrade signalling and telecom infrastructure, ensuring safer and more efficient operations across key routes, particularly in sections undergoing doubling and capacity expansion.
