Synopsis

NBCC has signed an agreement with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan to carry out construction, renovation and repair works at KVS schools across India, with project values to be decided individually. The PSU will act as project management consultant for the assignments. In addition, NBCC has secured six new orders worth a total of INR 271.32 crore. This includes a major INR 232 crore contract for building the Namami Ganga Aquarium-cum-Discovery Learning Centre in Rishikesh, adding to its government infrastructure portfolio.

State-owned NBCC has entered into an agreement with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) to undertake construction-related works across India. The understanding covers execution of construction, replacement, renovation and repair activities at KVS institutions on a pan-India basis. The scope of work will be taken up as and when assigned, and the project value will be determined separately for each case.

Under the arrangement, NBCC will provide Project Management Consultancy services, continuing its role as an executing and managing agency for public infrastructure projects. KVS, which operates a large network of central government schools across the country, regularly undertakes infrastructure upgrades to meet rising enrolment and safety norms.

Separately, NBCC informed that it has secured six new work orders with a combined value of INR 271.32 crore. The orders add to the company's ongoing portfolio of government-backed projects.

Among the new contracts is a major order worth INR 232 crore for construction of the proposed Namami Ganga Aquarium-cum-Discovery Learning Centre at Pashulok in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. The project is linked to the Namami Ganga programme and is aimed at strengthening public awareness, research and education around river ecosystems.

NBCC, a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been involved in execution of large-scale redevelopment, institutional and infrastructure projects for central and state agencies. Its recent order inflows reflect continued reliance by government bodies on PSU-led project execution.
