Synopsis

United Aircraft, a Shenzhen-based Chinese drone manufacturer, is preparing for an initial public offering in Hong Kong or mainland China around 2027 or 2028 to fund research, development, and expansion. The company, which raised over 3 billion yuan (around USD 432 million) in 2023 and is valued at more than 10 billion yuan, aims to increase drone deliveries from over 3,000 in 2025 to about 10,000 this year. It is also ramping up international sales, with exports to Cambodia and France, and expects overseas revenue to reach roughly 30 per cent of total sales within a few years.

United Aircraft Group, a growing Chinese drone manufacturer, is moving closer to a public listing to support its research, development, and business expansion. The Shenzhen-based company is considering an IPO in Hong Kong or mainland China as early as 2027 or 2028, according to a senior executive. The listing is aimed primarily at securing funds for developing new aircraft models and sustaining rapid growth.

The company raised over 3 billion yuan (USD 432 million) in 2023 and currently has a valuation exceeding 10 billion yuan. Around 60-70 per cent of its approximately 1,000-strong workforce is focused on research and development. This highlights the company's strong emphasis on innovation and its capacity to design and manufacture new drones independently.

United Aircraft showcased its Boying T1400 drone at Asia's largest aviation and defence exhibition, marking the model's first overseas display. The T1400 is designed for agricultural, logistics, and emergency operations. In addition, the company's product line includes the TD550 firefighting and emergency communication drone and the Q100 agricultural drone. The company expects to deliver roughly 10,000 drones this year, a sharp rise from the more than 3,000 units supplied in 2025. Production of the Lanying R6000 tilt-rotor logistics and emergency drone will begin with 20 units this year and is expected to scale to 300 units by 2027.

Internationally, United Aircraft is actively expanding. In 2025, the company sold Q100 agricultural drones to farmers in Cambodia and exported 100 Q20 logistics drones to France for delivery and inspection services. Vice President Sun Liye noted that international revenue currently accounts for less than 10 per cent but is expected to reach approximately 30 per cent within the next two to three years. The Middle East and Southeast Asia are key focus regions due to easier market access and lower resistance to Chinese drone technology.

While many aerospace companies face global supply chain disruptions and engine shortages, United Aircraft's operations are almost entirely China-based, from design and R&D to manufacturing. This end-to-end domestic supply chain ensures the company remains unaffected by external supply constraints, providing stability and reliability in production. In addition to logistics applications, the company sees significant potential for emergency rescue operations, especially in disaster-prone areas of Southeast Asia, where earthquakes and other natural events frequently occur.

United Aircraft's strategy combines domestic production strength with a growing international footprint. By scaling delivery volumes and expanding exports, the company positions itself to capture emerging commercial and emergency service opportunities. Its focus on innovation and a fully domestic supply chain gives it resilience and a competitive advantage in the global drone market.
