The acquisition is part of Sunday PropTech's broader strategy to expand its owned and managed hotel portfolio in India's premium and mid-premium hospitality segments. The newly acquired assets will be integrated into PRISM's existing brand ecosystem, which includes Sunday Hotels, Belvilla and other suitable hospitality brands. The final branding of each property will depend on its location, positioning and target customer profile.

According to people familiar with the matter, the transaction has been funded through a combination of debt and equity instruments. This blended financing approach reflects the company's focus on balancing capital efficiency with long-term asset ownership as it scales its hospitality footprint across key markets.

Sunday PropTech operates as the asset-heavy arm of OYO, with a mandate to acquire, develop and manage hotel properties, as opposed to the largely asset-light aggregation model that OYO is known for. The company has been selectively building a portfolio of owned and leased assets, particularly in the premium and mid-premium categories, where demand for branded, professionally managed accommodation has been steadily increasing.

The acquisition of the eight hotels comes at a time when the Indian hospitality sector is witnessing renewed interest from institutional and strategic investors, driven by improving occupancy levels, rising average room rates and a recovery in domestic and international travel.
