Casagrand has expanded its corporate social responsibility footprint with the launch of an affordable diagnostic centre in Chennai under the Casagrand Foundation banner. Located in Besant Nagar, the not-for-profit facility aims to make essential diagnostic and preventive healthcare services accessible to wider sections of society, particularly construction workers and low-income communities facing rising medical costs. The centre offers over 100 diagnostic services, including blood tests, ECGs, X-rays, CT scans and comprehensive health check-ups, at prices roughly one-third of prevailing market rates. With blood tests starting at INR 50 and CT scans priced at INR 900, the initiative seeks to address gaps in affordability and long waiting periods at government hospitals. The facility is equipped with automated laboratories, modern imaging technology and trained medical professionals.
Casagrand, a leading real estate developer, has inaugurated an affordable diagnostic centre in Chennai as part of its maiden corporate social responsibility initiative under the Casagrand Foundation. The facility, launched earlier this week in Besant Nagar, has been positioned as a not-for-profit healthcare centre aimed at improving access to diagnostic and preventive care for economically vulnerable communities.
The diagnostic centre has been designed to offer more than 100 medical tests and screenings at subsidised rates, with pricing targeted at nearly one-third of typical market costs. Basic blood tests are available from INR 50, while advanced diagnostic procedures such as CT scans are priced at INR 900, compared to market rates that can exceed INR 4,500. The initiative is intended to support individuals burdened by high medical expenses, including daily wage earners and construction workers, while also serving the broader local population.
Strategically located in a residential pocket of south Chennai, the centre provides a wide range of diagnostic services including ECGs, digital X-rays, ultrasound scans, CT imaging, diabetes and thyroid profiles, troponin tests, creatinine screenings and full-body master health check-ups. Specialised women's health packages have also been introduced to encourage preventive care. The facility is supported by a fully automated laboratory and modern diagnostic equipment to ensure timely and reliable test results.
Casagrand's founder and managing director Arun MN said the initiative emerged from recognising the growing dependence on diagnostic reports and the financial strain they place on sections of society. He noted that while government hospitals remain affordable, long waiting periods often delay critical testing, creating a gap that the foundation aims to address by offering accessible services without compromising on quality or safety standards.
The centre is staffed by trained technicians and experienced medical professionals, with a focus on hygiene, clinical accuracy and patient care. It operates from Monday to Saturday between 7 am and 7 pm, and on Sundays from 7 am to 1.30 pm. Located on First Avenue in Shastri Nagar, Besant Nagar, the facility also accepts prior appointments through a dedicated contact number, positioning itself as a community-focused healthcare support system rather than a commercial diagnostic outlet.
