Synopsis

Brahmaputra Infrastructure Limited has been selected as the lowest bidder for a road-over-bridge project under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). The contract, valued at INR 46.62 crore, will replace the manned Level Crossing No. NC 5 between Rangapani and New Jalpaiguri stations on the New Jalpaiguri Aluabari section and is planned for completion in 18 months. The company confirmed that neither its promoters nor promoter group entities have any stake in the awarding authority and that this is not a related-party transaction. This order strengthens the company's infrastructure portfolio alongside recent PWD projects in Jammu.

Brahmaputra Infrastructure Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder for a key road-over-bridge project under the Northeast Frontier Railway. The project is valued at INR 46.62 crore and has an execution timeline of 18 months. It will replace the manned Level Crossing No. NC 5 located between Rangapani and New Jalpaiguri stations on the New Jalpaiguri Aluabari section, improving safety and reducing congestion on this busy railway route.

The company confirmed in its regulatory filing that neither the promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority. The contract does not qualify as a related-party transaction, ensuring compliance with regulatory and transparency norms.

This contract adds to the company's growing portfolio. Earlier this month, Brahmaputra Infrastructure received a letter of acceptance from the Office of the Chief Engineer, Public Works Department (R&B), Jammu, for balance construction work on the new Legislature Complex, valued at INR113.54 crore. That project also has an 18 month execution period. The firm's order book now reflects a combination of rail-linked and public works projects, strengthening its presence across multiple infrastructure segments.

The road-over-bridge project aligns with broader efforts to improve connectivity in India's Northeast. The New Jalpaiguri Aluabari section is a strategic route for both passenger and freight movement, and replacing the manned level crossing will enhance operational efficiency and safety. Projects like this complement ongoing large-scale works in the region, including approved plans for a second rail-cum-road bridge over the Brahmaputra at Saraighat in Assam, estimated at INR 1,473.77 crore, which is part of the rail line-doubling initiative.

By securing this NFR project, Brahmaputra Infrastructure demonstrates its capacity to execute complex rail-linked infrastructure work while maintaining regulatory compliance. The company's track record in timely project execution will be crucial as construction proceeds over the next 18 months.
