Synopsis

Luminous Power Technologies is set to establish 350 MW of solar projects in Rajasthan under the PM-KUSUM initiative. The generated power will be sold to local distribution companies, producing 500 & 560 million units annually. The projects are expected to cut carbon emissions by 402,000-459,000 tonnes each year, equivalent to planting 19-22 million trees. Implementation will begin in early 2026 in a phased manner. The move strengthens Luminous Power's renewable energy efforts, aligning with the PM-KUSUM scheme launched in 2019, which targets 34,800 MW of solar capacity by March 2026.

Luminous Power Technologies has received multiple orders to install a total of 350 MW of solar power projects in Rajasthan under the PM-KUSUM scheme, the company announced. The electricity generated from these solar plants will be supplied to local distribution companies, according to the company's statement.

The combined installations are expected to produce between 500 and 560 million units of electricity annually. This output could reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 402,000 to 459,000 tonnes each year, which is comparable to planting around 19 to 22 million trees.

The projects are planned to be implemented in phases, starting in the first quarter of 2026. Preeti Bajaj, CEO and MD of Luminous Power Technologies, noted that these 350 MW projects mark a significant milestone for the company in expanding its renewable energy portfolio.

Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme aims to add 34,800 MW of solar capacity by March 2026, supporting decentralized solar energy generation for farmers and contributing to India's clean energy targets.
