Synopsis

CREDAI Pune reinforced its focus on labour welfare by hosting the fourth edition of the Pride Best Facility Awards 2025, recognising developers for raising standards at construction worker residence camps. With participation from over 105 developers, the awards reflected growing industry commitment towards safe, hygienic and dignified living conditions for the workforce. Categories covered health, safety, skill development, women workers welfare, crèche facilities, innovation and debut projects. Senior civic officials and industry leaders highlighted how improved labour facilities enhance productivity, morale and long-term workforce stability. The initiative continues to push developers beyond compliance, positioning labour welfare as a core pillar of responsible real estate development.

CREDAI Pune hosted the fourth edition of the Pride Best Facility Awards earlier this week, reaffirming its commitment to labour welfare and people-centric development within the real estate sector. Held in Pune, the ceremony honoured developers who demonstrated consistent efforts in creating safe, dignified and healthy living environments at construction worker residence camps.

This year's awards witnessed participation from more than 105 developers, marking a significant rise in engagement and interest across categories. Nominations spanned skill development, women workers welfare, safety at labour camps, health and hygiene, crèche facilities, maximum registration under the Building and Other Construction Workers framework, along with silver and gold honours, the R. Vasudevan Award for Innovation and a newly introduced category for promising debutants.

Beyond recognition, the awards aim to drive behavioural change across the construction ecosystem. By highlighting best practices in labour welfare, CREDAI Pune has sought to establish clear benchmarks for responsible development. Improved facilities have translated into safer worksites, higher productivity, better morale and greater workforce retention, while transforming labour camps into secure and respectful living spaces for workers and their families.

The event was attended by senior dignitaries, including the Police Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad as chief guest, along with industry leaders and former senior officials from the Labour Department. Speakers underlined how cleaner camps, improved sanitation and access to medical and childcare facilities have enhanced dignity and wellbeing for construction workers, encouraging developers to move beyond basic compliance towards sustainable and compassionate practices.

CREDAI Pune's leadership reiterated that labour welfare remains central to long-term industry growth. The organisation highlighted how healthy living conditions directly benefit developers through improved efficiency, quality of work and workforce stability. The awards were also positioned as a platform to foster healthy competition, enabling developers to learn from each other and steadily raise standards year after year.

Industry representatives noted that the evolution of labour regulations is increasingly focused on safety, dignity and social security, and collaborative engagement between developers and authorities will be critical to effective implementation. The introduction of a debutant category this year was aimed at encouraging first-time participants and widening adoption of structured welfare practices.

Projects were evaluated across three labour strength categories, with gold, silver and debut awards presented accordingly. Additional special awards recognised excellence in areas such as skill development, women workers welfare, safety, innovation, health and hygiene, crèche facilities and statutory registrations.

With growing participation and rising benchmarks, the Pride Best Facility Awards have emerged as a reference point for ethical real estate practices in Pune. CREDAI Pune indicated that the initiative will be expanded further, with the objective of sustaining dignity, safety and quality of life for construction workers while strengthening the foundations of a more responsible and resilient real estate sector.
