Synopsis

Walmart Global Technology Services India Pvt Ltd, the technology arm of US retail giant Walmart, has leased 1.01 lakh sq ft of office space in north Bengaluru, near Kempegowda International Airport. The five year lease at a monthly rent of around INR 49 lakh includes a 4% annual rent escalation and a security deposit of INR 3.90 crore. The space will house the Walmart Contact Center serving US customers. This move follows its earlier large leases in Chennai and Bengaluru, showing growing interest in emerging office corridors and Global Capability Centres.

WM Global Technology Services India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of US retailer Walmart, has secured 1.01 lakh sq ft of office space in Bengaluru on a five year lease. The new office is located in Prestige Tech Cloud, Building 2 (Cumulus), Devanahalli, close to Kempegowda International Airport. The lease covers the ground, seventh, and eighth floors of the building, with an agreed monthly rent of around INR 49 lakh, a 4% annual escalation, and a security deposit of INR 3.90 crore.

The rent commencement is scheduled for early March next year, coinciding with the start of operations in the new space. According to a company spokesperson, the office will host the Walmart Contact Center, which handles customer experience operations for US customers. The spokesperson also emphasized the company's global in office policy, supporting five days off in office work to enhance team collaboration and direct engagement.

Prestige Group, the lessor and developer of the building, declined to comment on the transaction. Earlier this year, Walmart's tech subsidiary leased nearly 465,000 sq ft in Chennai to establish its second Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India. The previous year, it leased approximately 950,000 sq ft at Prestige Tech Pacific in Bengaluru for its first GCC. These moves highlight Walmarts steady expansion in India's technology and service hubs.
