Key projects include the construction of the Advait Lok cultural and spiritual museum at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh, a FIFA-compliant football stadium and sports facilities in Guwahati, and luxury high-rise residential towers in Mumbai. The museum project includes long-term operations and maintenance, while the sports complex redevelopment has a 27-month delivery timeline.

Larsen & Toubro has secured multiple large engineering, procurement and construction orders in India through its buildings and factories business vertical, according to a regulatory filing made in the past week. The company classifies large orders as those valued between INR 2,500 crore and INR 5,000 crore.

One of the key projects is an order from the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation for the construction of Advait Lok, a cultural and spiritual museum at Omkareshwar. The project involves developing a global-standard museum with detailed stone carvings and architectural elements using glass fibre reinforced concrete. The museum will present the life and philosophy of Acharya Shankar through curated displays.

L&T’s scope of work also includes architectural finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, external development works such as parking facilities, and operations and maintenance for a period of five years. The project is scheduled to be completed within three years.

In another order, the company has been awarded an EPC contract by the Assam government for the redevelopment of the R G Baruah Sports Complex at Sarusajai in Guwahati. The project includes building a FIFA-compliant football stadium with a seating capacity of 25,000, along with other sports and related facilities. The redevelopment is expected to be completed within 27 months.

Additionally, the business vertical has secured an order from a reputed private developer for the construction of luxury high-rise residential towers in Mumbai, further strengthening L&T’s presence in the urban residential segment.

L&T has earlier been a key contractor for large public infrastructure and urban development projects across India, with its buildings and factories business playing a central role in cultural, sports, and residential developments.
