Real estate company Doxa AB has received approval from the Land and Environment Court of Appeal for the detailed local plan for its Torgkvarteren project around Brunnshogstorget in Lund. This court decision has removed a previously imposed suspension, allowing the planned development to move forward.
The approved plan encompasses approximately 50,000 square meters of land in the Brunnshg district, with the development primarily focused on residential buildings in two blocks. The intention is for these buildings to help create a sustainable and active neighbourhood around Brunnsh gstorget.
Doxa has said the approval is an important step for both the company and Lund's ongoing urban development. In the next phase, consultancy firm Archus will support Doxa with structuring, investment strategy and preparations for building permits and implementation, helping the project transition from planning to execution.
Brunnshg has been a focal point in Lund's city planning for several years. The district is being developed with long term sustainability goals, such as extensive public transport links, energy systems that make use of research facilities excess heat, and infrastructure designed for pedestrians and cyclists. Brunnshg also integrates parks and mixed uses to support liveability as it grows.
The approval comes amid broader construction and development activity in Lund, where new residential, office, and mixed use projects continue to take shape as part of the city's urban expansion. This contributes to Lund's efforts to balance housing needs and sustainable development across multiple neighbourhoods.
