A significant share of large infrastructure projects monitored under the PRAGATI platform has been successfully commissioned, reflecting the growing role of digital governance in accelerating execution. Out of 53 high-value projects reviewed at the prime ministerial level, 43 projects with a combined investment of over Rs 3 lakh crore have been completed as of the end of 2025. The remaining projects are at various stages of construction and represent substantial ongoing investment in the power sector. Public sector utilities such as Power Grid Corporation of India and NTPC account for a majority of the commissioned projects, highlighting the platform's impact on central infrastructure agencies. Since its launch in 2015, PRAGATI has emerged as a key mechanism to track progress, resolve bottlenecks and ensure timely delivery of critical projects.
As of December 31, 2025, as many as 43 major infrastructure projects with a total investment of Rs 3.02 lakh crore have been commissioned under the PRAGATI monitoring framework. These projects form part of 53 high-value initiatives worth Rs 4.12 lakh crore that have been reviewed at the prime minister's level since the platform was launched in 2015.
The remaining 10 projects, currently under construction, involve an investment of Rs 1,10,467 crore. These projects continue to be monitored closely to ensure timely completion and effective resolution of implementation challenges. The focus on regular reviews and coordinated decision-making has helped streamline execution across multiple agencies and states.
Among the commissioned projects, Power Grid Corporation of India leads with 20 completed projects, underscoring its central role in strengthening the country's power transmission infrastructure. NTPC follows with 14 commissioned projects, while NHPC, NEEPC, THDC and Sterlite have each completed two projects. A transmission project in Uttar Pradesh has also been commissioned under this framework.
The under-construction portfolio is similarly distributed, with Power Grid Corporation of India, NTPC, NHPC, THDC and Sterlite each handling two ongoing projects. These developments highlight the continued emphasis on expanding and modernising India's power sector to meet growing demand.
Beyond projects reviewed at the highest level, the broader PRAGATI ecosystem spans multiple layers of monitoring, including reviews by the Union Cabinet Secretary and other senior authorities. Under this multi-tier structure, 237 power projects worth Rs 10.53 lakh crore have already been reviewed and commissioned at various levels. In addition, 108 power projects with an investment of around Rs 6 lakh crore are currently under construction and remain under active monitoring.
Launched in 2015, PRAGATI was designed to improve coordination between the Centre and states, break procedural bottlenecks and ensure accountability in project implementation. Over the years, it has evolved into a key governance tool, demonstrating how technology-driven oversight can translate policy intent into measurable outcomes and on-ground progress.
