The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has granted a letter of intent to Neenjas Electric for a 20,000 square metre industrial plot in Sector 8D, Greater Noida, to establish a facility producing electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions and solar power banks. With an estimated investment of INR 169 crore, the project aligns with India Make in India initiative and aims to strengthen EV infrastructure, generate local employment, and boost industrial activity. Proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar further enhances the region's appeal for clean tech and logistics investments.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued a letter of intent to Neenjas Electric for allotting a 20,000 square metre industrial plot in Sector 8D, Greater Noida. The company will establish a facility for manufacturing electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions and solar power banks. The project represents a major investment of around INR 169 crore and is part of broader efforts to support EV infrastructure development in the region.
Neenjas Electric specialises in designing and manufacturing advanced EV chargers, including AC and DC chargers, onboard and offboard chargers, and IP rated chargers suited for Indian conditions. The facility will also produce solar power banks, adding renewable energy capabilities to EV operations. The company plans to leverage local supply chains to optimise production and reduce logistics costs, which is expected to generate employment opportunities for the surrounding population.
YEIDA's Chief Executive Officer, Rakesh Kumar Singh, said the move supports the government's Make in India programme and contributes to building a robust EV ecosystem. Officials highlighted that the allotment is intended to strengthen the region's industrial base, attract additional clean tech investors, and enhance Greater Noida's position as a hub for green technologies and renewable energy manufacturing.
The site's strategic location near the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar is expected to provide strong logistical advantages. Easier connectivity will help reduce transport time and costs for both domestic distribution and potential exports. These factors have been attracting more investments in industrial, EV, and renewable energy projects in the region over the past few years.
The project also complements earlier initiatives by YEIDA to promote industrial development, including allocations for renewable energy hubs, automotive component manufacturing, and EV-related infrastructure. Government policies, such as central subsidies and incentives for EV charging stations, have encouraged private players to expand manufacturing capacities. Neenjas Electric's new facility will directly benefit from these policy measures while contributing to the larger goal of sustainable mobility in India.
