Rajesh Power Services has secured a significant battery energy storage project from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The company will develop a standalone 65 MW/130 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Virpore, Gujarat, according to its filing with the stock exchange.
A 65 MW/130 MW energy storage system indicates that the 65 MW battery capacity can supply power backup for two hours, resulting in a total output of 130 MW. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months from the signing of the Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) and after obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals.
This project marks another step in the expansion of battery storage infrastructure in India, aligning with growing renewable energy integration and the push for grid stability. Rajesh Power Services has previously executed several power infrastructure projects, including solar and storage solutions, contributing to India's transition toward clean energy.
