Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has been declared the lowest bidder for a contract awarded by East Coast Railway to establish a wagon Periodic Overhaul workshop in Odisha. The project will be developed at Kantabanji and will have the capacity to handle the maintenance of up to 200 wagons.

The total contract value stands at approximately INR 201.23 crore, excluding taxes, with an execution timeline of 18 months. RVNL secured the project as the sole bidder under a works tender, reflecting its strong positioning in railway infrastructure development.

The proposed workshop is expected to enhance wagon maintenance capacity and improve operational efficiency on the East Coast Railway network. By strengthening maintenance infrastructure, the facility will support better turnaround times and reliability for freight services in the region.

RVNL stated that the contract has been awarded in the normal course of business and does not involve any related party transactions. The project further strengthens the company's presence in railway infrastructure projects across the country.
