The mayor of Panchkula has inaugurated a series of development projects totalling approximately INR 7 crore, marking a concerted investment in local infrastructure across key areas of the city. The initiative, spanning wards 19 and 20, focuses on enhancing both rural and urban amenities and is part of broader efforts to improve connectivity, sanitation and essential services.
A central component of the development package includes the completion of a Material Recovery Facility to support scientific waste management in the Alipur area, alongside the construction of a boundary wall at the construction and demolition waste plant in Jalauli to improve safety and regulatory oversight.
Road and drainage improvements form a significant portion of the works. These include concrete drainage installations in Jaswantgarh and new peripheral road and drainage projects valued at INR 1.75 crore in Alipur and INR 1.58 crore in Jalauli, aimed at improving mobility and sanitation.
In addition to transportation and sanitation infrastructure, enhancements have been made to power supply and sewage treatment facilities. Upgrades include new three-phase electricity connections and transformer installations at local sewage treatment plants, as well as enhancements to community infrastructure such as crematoriums, dharamshalas and sewage treatment networks.
Officials overseeing the rollout emphasised that these targeted investments are intended to strengthen civic services and provide long-term benefits to residents across both core urban zones and adjoining rural settlements. The development drive reflects the municipality's focus on balanced growth and improved quality of life through planned infrastructure delivery.
