Synopsis

The Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport in Rajasthan is expected to become operational by 2027, marking a major boost to regional connectivity and economic development. Alongside the new airport, plans are underway to establish a pilot training institute at the existing Kota airport. Authorities have completed tendering procedures for the airport project, with one work order already issued at an estimated cost of INR 10,507 crore. Beyond aviation, the region is set to witness broader development, including slum-free housing, social welfare initiatives, industrial growth, and enhanced opportunities for agro-based industries, supported by improved infrastructure and water availability.

The Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport is expected to start operations by 2027, with discussions already underway with aviation service providers and initial responses reported to be encouraging. Tendering procedures for the airport construction have been completed, and one of the two work orders has been issued for a project sanctioned at approximately INR 10,507 crore.

In addition to the new airport, a pilot training institute is proposed at the existing Kota airport, aimed at strengthening aviation-related infrastructure in the region. The development plans extend beyond aviation, with initiatives announced to make Kota slum-free by 2026 through rental housing schemes and efforts to curb drug-related issues.

The Hadouti region is also being positioned as a hub for water-based and agro-based industries, supported by access to major rivers and improved connectivity through the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is expected to open new markets for local farmers.
