Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced the leasing of commercial spaces at three Aqua Line stations Sector 81, Sector 83, and Depot to enhance non-fare revenue. Units range from 26 sqm to 315 sqm and can be used for diverse commercial purposes, except those restricted by NMRC. The 15-year lease applications are due by early January. Aqua Line currently serves nearly 69,000 passengers daily. NMRC is also advancing network expansions and a pedestrian skywalk between Sector 51 and Sector 52 stations to improve connectivity in the Noida-Greater Noida region.
Noida Metro Rail Corporation is offering commercial spaces for lease at three metro stations on the Aqua Line Sector 81, Sector 83, and Depot. This initiative is part of NMRC's strategy to increase non-fare revenue alongside ticket sales, leveraging the steady passenger flow at these stations.
Sector 81 station has four spaces available: 26 sqm and 172 sqm on the ground floor, 315 sqm on the first/concourse level 1, and 232 sqm on concourse level 2. Sector 83 has one 226 sqm unit on the upper ground floor, while Depot station has a 106 sqm area on the first/concourse level. NMRC allows these spaces to be used for commercial purposes except for activities classified as restricted or banned.
The lease period is set for 15 years, and interested parties must submit applications by January 5, 2026. NMRC officials stated that leasing these areas for kiosks, retail outlets, and other commercial activities is a key step in strengthening financial sustainability.
The Aqua Line, which connects Noida Sector 51 to Depot station in Greater Noida, currently records an average daily ridership of around 68,869 passengers. NMRC is also working on three extension projects: from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V, from Sector 51 to Sector 142, and from Depot to Boraki, aimed at further enhancing connectivity.
A dedicated pedestrian skywalk connecting Sector 51 and Sector 52 stations is expected to be operational by January 2026. These initiatives are part of NMRC's wider effort to improve commuter experience and integrate retail opportunities into the transit network.
