Synopsis

L&T has secured a major contract for the second phase of the Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road in Ranga Reddy district, classified as a significant order valued between INR 1,000 crore and INR 2,500 crore. The 22.3 km, six-lane access-controlled road will connect Hyderabad's outer ring road to the proposed 340 km regional ring road, improving access to IT hubs and the electronic city. The project includes a 3.6 km viaduct, bridges, underpasses, service roads, drainage, footpaths, cycle tracks, and landscaping, reinforcing Lamp's role in boosting Telangana's regional connectivity and economic growth.

Infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced earlier this week that it has secured a significant contract for the second phase of the Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road project. The order, awarded to L&T's transportation infrastructure business unit, covers the development of the road in Ranga Reddy district. L&T considers orders ranging from INR 1,000 crore to INR 2,500 crore as significant.

The project entails building a 22.3 km, six-lane (3+3) access-controlled radial road aimed at enhancing regional connectivity. This second phase is strategically important as it will serve as the first radial connector between Hyderabad's outer ring road and the proposed 340 km regional ring road. The development is expected to improve access to key economic hubs, including IT corridors and the electronic city, supporting growth in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district.

Under the contract, L&T will construct a 3.6 km viaduct, along with minor bridges, underpasses, and culverts. The scope also includes the construction of service roads on both sides, extensive retention structures, stormwater drainage systems, footpaths, cycle tracks, and landscaping works.

L&T operates across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services in multiple regions. The firm has been consistently involved in infrastructure projects of strategic importance across India, contributing to regional connectivity and economic development.
