Synopsis

Inox Clean Energy has launched production at its Bavla solar module facility in Gujarat, starting with a 1.2 GW capacity that will eventually expand to 3 GW. The plant produces advanced N-type TOPCon bifacial modules, offering higher efficiency and dual-sided power generation. Alongside this, Inox Solar is setting up a 4.8 GW integrated solar cell-plus-module facility in Odisha. These initiatives are expected to strengthen India's domestic solar manufacturing, reduce import dependence, and position the country prominently in global renewable energy supply chains.

Inox Solar's subsidiary, Inox Clean Energy, has started production at its solar module manufacturing facility in Bavla, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The facility, which is fully automated and equipped with advanced technology, produces N-type TOPCon solar modules using M10, G12R, and G12 solar cells.

The first phase of the Bavla plant has an initial production capacity of 1.2 GW, which is part of a larger 3 GW plan. The modules manufactured here are based on globally recognized technology, designed for higher efficiency, lower degradation, and enhanced reliability, making them suitable for modern solar projects. The facility's bifacial modules allow power generation from both sides, improving the Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) and overall energy output.

The Bavla plant is expected to scale up to 3 GW in the second phase. Meanwhile, Inox Solar is also setting up an integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility with a capacity of 4.8 GW in Dhenkanal, Odisha. These projects aim to strengthen India's domestic solar manufacturing, reduce reliance on imports, and boost the country's position in global renewable energy supply chains.

Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, highlighted that the first phase of Bavla was completed in just four months. He noted that with the current gap in domestic solar cell manufacturing, integrated companies like INOXGFL are well-positioned to capitalize on large-scale opportunities in the sector. Inox Clean Energy forms part of the INOXGFL Group, serving as the holding company for both the Renewables IPP business under Inox Neo Energies Limited and the solar manufacturing operations under Inox Solar.
