The Portuguese Housing Market Survey for May 2025, released by RICS and Confidencial Imobiliário, highlighted sustained strength in buyer activity, marking the sixth consecutive month of positive new buyer enquiries. House prices also continued their upward trajectory, with the net price balance rising to +30%, compared to +28% in the previous month. The report noted that this trend was expected to continue over both the short and longer term.


The prevailing mismatch between demand and supply, particularly in key regions such as the Algarve, was identified as a significant driver of growth. According to the report, the acute shortage of high-end properties continues to push prices up, drawing substantial interest from both domestic buyers and foreign investors seeking long-term capital appreciation and stability.

Reflecting this surge in interest, Vale do Lobo's latest branded residential launch - The Residences Vale do Lobo - has approached 50% sales within a few weeks of entering the market. This collection of townhouses, apartments, and linked villas represents the resort's first residential development in over two decades. The properties, currently under construction, are situated adjacent to the renowned Royal Golf Course and are being rapidly acquired by investors, primary and secondary homebuyers alike.

Alda Filipe, Regional Director and Partner at Kronos Homes, commented that the combination of prime location, investment appeal, and lifestyle amenities had clearly resonated with buyers worldwide. She observed that even in the current robust market environment, the swift sales performance of The Residences Vale do Lobo was a standout outcome.

The new homes come equipped with features such as landscaped gardens, communal and private pools, and sun terraces. They also offer convenient access to Vale do Lobo's extensive leisure and wellness infrastructure, including tennis courts, a golf academy, a spa, and a broad range of dining options. Many of these amenities have been newly introduced or upgraded following Kronos Homes' acquisition and management of the resort.
