Inox Wind recently announced it has received a 51 megawatt (MW) order from First Energy Pvt Ltd, a Thermax Group company. This marks the first time First Energy has ordered Inox Wind's 3 MW class wind turbines. The project in Tamil Nadu will also include limited engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, along with multi-year operations and maintenance (O&M) services. This partnership aims to help First Energy expand its renewable energy offerings and supports India's goals for energy transition, further solidifying Inox Wind's role in the country's wind power sector.
Inox Wind, a leading wind energy solutions provider, recently announced it has received a 51 megawatt (MW) order from First Energy Pvt Ltd. First Energy, a company belonging to the Thermax Group, is known for providing renewable energy solutions in India's commercial and industrial sectors.
This order is notable as it is the first time First Energy Pvt Ltd (FEPL) has chosen Inox Wind (IWL) for the supply of its 3 MW class wind turbines. These turbines feature a 140-meter hub height and a 145-meter rotor diameter, reflecting modern wind energy technology.
FEPL plans to install these wind turbines at its project site located in Tamil Nadu. The project is being developed through FEPL's special purpose vehicle (SPV), First Energy 10 Private Limited. The contract also covers limited-scope EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) services for the project, including supervision of the installation. Additionally, Inox Wind's subsidiaries will provide multi-year operations and maintenance (O&M) services after the wind turbine generators (WTGs) are commissioned.
Sanjeev Agarwal, CEO of Inox Wind Ltd, stated that the partnership would help First Energy expand its offerings quickly. He added that Inox Wind remained a preferred partner for large renewable energy developers, providing various solutions across the wind energy sector and supporting India's energy transition goals. Inox Wind is a prominent player in the Indian wind energy sector, providing end-to-end wind power solutions.
This order aligns with India's broader push towards increasing its renewable energy capacity. The country has ambitious targets for clean energy adoption, and wind power plays a key role in reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Such projects contribute to reducing carbon emissions and providing sustainable power solutions for industrial and commercial use.
