Costa Blanca continues to draw British homebuyers with its blend of affordability, coastal charm, and lifestyle appeal. Taylor Wimpey Espana is offering key-ready homes at Eden Beach in La Mata for over 12% less than the average UK property, with prices starting from EUR 280,000 plus VAT. The development features sea-view apartments within a gated community just 700 metres from the beach. A surge in international traffic at Alicante-Elche Airport further reflects rising interest in the region, which is increasingly becoming a preferred destination for second homes and retirement retreats.
The Costa Blanca is increasingly becoming a magnet for British property buyers seeking sun-soaked living at a price that beats the UK market. Earlier this week, Taylor Wimpey Espana revealed that homes at Eden Beach in La Mata are available from EUR 280,000 plus VAT more than 12% cheaper than the average UK property, which stood at GBP 268,200, or roughly EUR 319,766, according to Zoopla's April data.
Located in Alicante, Eden Beach is a newly built, southeast-facing residential development that combines contemporary design with expansive sea views. The project features two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom penthouses, all equipped with generous terraces. The homes are part of a gated community and come with access to cascading communal pools, landscaped gardens, and are just a 700-metre stroll from the popular La Mata beach.
Ground-floor apartments, priced from EUR 285,000 plus VAT, are already key-ready. These units offer private gardens and barrier-free access, making them attractive to a diverse range of buyers. With energy efficiency in mind, the properties boast features like aerothermal heating, double glazing, and pre-fitted infrastructure for electric vehicle charging. Each home carries an A-rated energy certificate, catering to environmentally conscious buyers seeking future-ready investments.
The Costa Blanca has long held appeal for British buyers, not only for its 120 miles of Mediterranean coastline but also for its mix of recreational offerings ranging from golf at Villamartin and Las Ramblas to shopping and dining at Torremarina. Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Espana, remarked that the region presents a varied lifestyle with easy access to beaches, nature parks, and vibrant towns, all paired with convenient travel routes from the UK.
He added that the availability of high-quality homes at accessible price points has only amplified the area's popularity. His comment reflected growing demand, particularly as Alicante-Elche Airport, which serves the region, has seen record-breaking traffic this year. The airport experienced a 16% year-on-year rise in passengers in 2024, reaching 18.4 million. In 2025 so far, it has already set four monthly records, including a notable 8.9% increase in April compared to the same month last year. International travellers made up a significant majority, with 1.5 million out of 1.7 million passengers in April alone arriving from abroad.
For those not seeking immediate possession, Taylor Wimpey Espana has also opened sales for the second phase of Eden Beach, which is currently available off-plan.
As Alicante-Elche Airport continues to break international passenger records, accessibility to the region only strengthens the case for Costa Blanca as both a lifestyle and investment destination that aligns with current real estate trends.
