Synopsis

Hisar is emerging as a major infrastructure and industrial hub in Haryana, led by the INR 4,680 crore Maharaja Agrasen International Airport project, which is expected to attract INR 32,000 crore in investments and create over 10,000 jobs. Adjacent to the airport, a 3,000-acre Industrial Manufacturing Cluster under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor is also taking shape. Hisar's inclusion in the Smart Cities Mission, upcoming Multi-Modal Logistics Parks, and improved rail connectivity through the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor are further driving growth. Together, these projects are set to transform Hisar into a modern, well-connected, and economically vibrant city in northern India.

A cornerstone of Hisar's development is the Maharaja Agrasen International Airport. Spanning approximately 3,000 acres, the airport is being developed with an investment of INR 4,680 crore by the Government of Haryana and the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC). The project aims to attract investments totaling INR 32,000 crore and generate over 10,000 jobs. The airport is envisioned as an integrated aviation hub, featuring facilities for all-weather large aircraft operations, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services, and an aviation academy.

Adjacent to the airport, an Industrial Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) is being established over approximately 3,000 acres. This cluster is part of the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor and is expected to bolster industrial development in the region.

In the realm of urban development, Hisar has been selected as one of the seven cities in Haryana under the Smart Cities Mission. The initiative focuses on enhancing urban infrastructure, implementing intelligent traffic management systems, and promoting sustainable living practices.

Transportation infrastructure is also receiving a significant boost. The Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC), a 121.7 km high-speed railway project, is under construction to connect Palwal to Sonipat via Sohna, Manesar, and Kharkhoda. This corridor will facilitate passenger and freight movement, with projected ridership of 20,000 passengers per day and cargo transport of 50 million tonnes per annum.

Additionally, Hisar is set to benefit from the development of Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs). These parks aim to reduce logistics costs and time, enhance value addition, and boost the economy by providing facilities such as mechanized warehouses, specialized storage solutions, and inter-modal transfer terminals.

Collectively, these infrastructure projects signify Hisar's transformation into a modern urban center. By focusing on connectivity, industrial growth, and sustainable urban development, Hisar is poised to become a model city in Haryana's growth narrative.
