Among the most significant ongoing projects is the Jorhat-Dibrugarh section of the National Highway, expected to be completed by December 2025. Additionally, the newly inaugurated 581-meter railway flyover, built at a cost of INR 78.27 crore, connects Jorhat Medical College to Mission Hospital, easing congestion along Kamarbandha Road.

A convention centre at Chinnamara, constructed for INR 19.98 crore, includes an auditorium, media hall, and executive spaces, catering to high-profile events. Meanwhile, a new automated vehicle testing station, costing INR 12.5 crore, introduces digital fitness checks for vehicles across Jorhat, Golaghat, and Sivasagar districts' bringing efficiency and transparency to the system.

Looking ahead, Jorhat is preparing for more ambitious projects. The historic Jorhat Central Jail will be redeveloped into a Freedom Struggle Memorial Museum and park, a INR 180 crore initiative slated for completion by January 2026. Plans are also in place to launch the Bhogdoi flyover project by early 2026, further easing traffic and supporting urban mobility.
