Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) officially launched the AISATS BLR Logistics Park at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport, marking a substantial infrastructure milestone in South India's cargo ecosystem. The facility was built with an investment of INR 200 crore and spans eight acres within the airport premises. As one of the largest on-airport logistics parks in the region, it highlights AISATS's commitment to enhancing India's cargo infrastructure.
The logistics park comprises three distinct buildings designed to serve diverse cargo needs. A modern two-level main warehouse offering over 240,000 sq ft of Grade A warehousing space for freight forwarders, express courier operators and leading logistics players ; an 11,000 sq ft public bonded warehouse that enables importers and OEMs to store and manage cargo under customs bond arrangements and a 24,000 sq ft office block dedicated to Customs House Agents, logistics companies, and other support services.
Kempegowda International Airport is India's third busiest, handling 40% of South India's air cargo and recording 502,480 MT in FY25. BLR Airport aims to double cargo volumes to one million metric tonnes by 2030, and the new logistics park directly supports this goal.
AISATS will operate dedicated trucking services to ensure seamless, cost-effective cargo movement between the logistics park and cargo terminals. A common-user general warehouse space and pay-per-use cold storage further strengthen inclusivity for small and medium enterprises.
The logistics park incorporates eco-friendly measures, such as rainwater harvesting, natural light utilisation, energy-efficient LED lighting, and waste management based on the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle principle. These features align with AISATS's and the airport's broader commitment to sustainable operations and resource conservation.
