The area, meant for a park, was illegally occupied by two temporary sheds and one semi-pucca house, all constructed without approval. District Town Planner (Enforcement) Amit Madholia led the demolition drive and ensured the team executed it smoothly with police present to maintain law and order. The department had earlier issued formal notices to the individuals responsible for the encroachments. Although the authorities gave the encroachers an opportunity to take corrective measures, they failed to respond, which compelled the department to carry out the removal. The planning department highlighted that green spaces are communal assets intended to benefit all residents.
Any form of unauthorized construction on such land undermines the integrity of planned development and disturbs the ecological balance of residential areas. The enforcement action serves as a clear deterrent against future violations and reaffirms the department's commitment to preserving designated public areas.
