Synopsis

The Maharashtra Government is implementing the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Housing for All (Urban)' initiative in line with the Prime Minister's vision of 'Housing for All' by 2022. The scheme includes four components: Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Affordable Rental Housing (ARH), and the Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS). A unified web portal allows for easy registration under PMAY (Urban) 2.0. Applicants must submit documents like Aadhaar, PAN, income certificate, and land records to the Social Development Department at Belapur Bhavan, Navi Mumbai. The scheme offers subsidized ownership and rental options for economically weaker sections. A help desk has also been set up for guidance.

The Hon'ble Prime Minister had envisioned 'Housing for All' by 2022, coinciding with the Nation's 75th year of Independence. To achieve this objective, the Central Government launched the comprehensive mission 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Housing for All (Urban)', which continues to be a key initiative. In line with this, the Government of Maharashtra has issued a resolution to implement the scheme, based on the concept of 'Housing for All' across the state.

The decision incorporates four primary elements: Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), which focuses on slum rehabilitation with the participation of private developers using land as a resource; Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), which promotes affordable housing for the weaker sections through credit-linked subsidy; Affordable Rental Housing (ARH), which fosters partnerships between the public and private sectors for rental housing; and the Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS), which provides subsidies for beneficiary-led individual house construction or enhancement.

To streamline implementation, the Central Government has launched a unified web portal, enabling beneficiaries to register under 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0'. Those interested must complete registration on the portal.

The documents required for registration include Aadhaar and PAN Cards of the applicant, Aadhaar Cards of other family members, an income certificate issued by the Tehsildar for the current financial year, an Aadhaar-linked bank passbook, a caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC applicants, and land documents for those applying under Beneficiary Led Construction.

Eligible beneficiaries are required to submit their applications along with the necessary documents to the Social Development Department of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, located on the 1st Floor of Belapur Bhavan, Sector 11, C.B.D. For further details, applicants may contact the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0' Help Desk in Belapur, Navi Mumbai, or reach out via mobile at 9967413935.

The Maharashtra Government has promptly issued implementation guidelines to streamline the process within the state. With an accessible online registration portal, beneficiaries can easily apply for housing assistance, provided they meet the necessary documentation requirements. The scheme offers various components catering to different housing needs, including rental and subsidised ownership options.
