Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has leased two luxury duplex apartments in Mumbai's upscale Pali Hill locality, Khar West, for a combined annual rent of INR 2.9 crore. The leases, signed with producer Jackky Bhagnani and his family, are for 36 months and were registered on February 14. The first duplex, situated on the first and second floors of Puja Casa, has been leased from Jackky Bhagnani and his sister, Deepshikha Deshmukh, at a monthly rent of INR 11.54 lakh, with a security deposit of INR 32.97 lakh. The second duplex, located on the seventh and eighth floors, belongs to film producer Vashu Bhagnani. It has been leased at a monthly rent of INR 12.61 lakh, with a security deposit of INR 36 lakh. Combined, the monthly rent for both properties amounts to INR 24.15 lakh.
Khan's real estate moves highlight a growing trend among Bollywood celebrities leasing high-end residences. Recently, actor Kartik Aaryan rented a luxury apartment in Juhu, reportedly owned by actor Shahid Kapoor. Similarly, actress Janhvi Kapoor leased a duplex in Bandra, while actors Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor have also been involved in high-value rental transactions in the city.
Apart from leasing these properties, Shah Rukh Khan continues to reside in his iconic sea-facing bungalow, Mannat, in Bandra West. The multi-storey residence, acquired in 2001, is known for its grand interiors, private theatre, gym, and spacious living areas. It remains one of Mumbai's most recognizable celebrity homes, frequently attracting fans who gather outside for a glimpse of the star.
Similarly, actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Kapoor have rented out their luxury apartment in Mumbai's Worli area. The property, located in the Three Sixty West project, spans 5,395 square feet. The monthly rent is INR 20 lakh, with a lease term of five years.
In another notable transaction, actor Imran Khan and his partner Lekha Washington have leased a flat in Mumbai's Bandra area from film producer Karan Johar. The monthly rent for this property is INR 9 lakh, with a lease duration of three years.
The growing demand for luxury rental properties among Bollywood stars underscores Mumbai's dynamic real estate market, where location and exclusivity drive property values. With rental prices rising in prime areas like Bandra, Juhu, and Khar, more celebrities are opting for high-end leased properties instead of outright purchases, ensuring flexibility while maintaining an elite lifestyle.
