Synopsis

Actress Amrita Singh has bought a luxury residential apartment in the Peninsula building, part of Nutan Laxmi Cooperative Housing Society in Juhu, Mumbai, for INR 18 crore. The flat measures a built-up area of 252.04 square metres (2,712.9 square feet) and is accompanied by three car parking spots. The cost per square foot is INR 66,359. The deal involved paying stamp duty of INR 90 lakh and a registration fee of INR 30,000, according to documents from the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) seen by Square Yards. This purchase comes on the heels of a commercial property bought by Singh and her daughter Sara Ali Khan in Oshiwara in October 2024. Actor Varun Dhawan has also recently invested in two luxury flats in Juhu, making the area even more sought after as a hub for Bollywood stars.

Amrita Singh has bought a residential apartment at the Peninsula building, located in Nutan Laxmi Cooperative Housing Society, Juhu, Mumbai, for INR 18 crore.

The apartment has a built-up space of 252.04 square metres (2,712.9 square feet) and contains three exclusive car parking spaces. The cost per square foot is estimated at INR 66,359.

The deal was subject to a stamp duty cost of INR 90 lakh and a registration cost of INR 30,000, according to Inspector General of Registration (IGR) documents examined by Square Yards. Registration of the transaction occurred earlier in the month.

Previously in October 2024, Amrita Singh and Sara Ali Khan had bought two commercial office properties in Oshiwara, Mumbai, together for a value of INR 22.26 crore based on registration papers obtained by FloorTap.com. The contract price of one unit was INR 11.13 crore with a stamp duty of INR 66.8 lakh. The built-up area of each office space measured 2,099 square feet, while the carpet area spanned 1,905 square feet.

In yet another major property deal, Varun Dhawan had recently purchased two apartments in the Twenty by D'DECOR project in Juhu for INR 86.92 crore. One of the apartments, with an area of 4,617 square feet, was bought in partnership with his mother, Karuna David Dhawan, for INR 42.40 crore. The second apartment, with a carpet area of 5,112 square feet, was bought in partnership with his wife, Natasha, for INR 44.52 crore.

Juhu is still one of the most posh and in-demand residential neighborhoods in Mumbai and is home to many Bollywood celebrities. There are many popular Bollywood actors, producers, and directors who stay in Juhu because of its prime location and proximity to Goregaon, Khar, Bandra, and Andheri, where all film studios are based. The area also enjoys good connectivity, with easy proximity to the Western Express Highway, international airport, and Mumbai Metro system.

According to local brokers, apartments in the area are priced between INR 50,000 per square foot to INR 80,000 per square foot, affirming its position as one of the city's most pricey residential markets.
