Among these, around 25,000 belong to residents of sectors 7x and surrounding areas, which together house over 150,000 people. The delays have raised concerns about the financial and emotional toll on homebuyers, many of whom are waiting for years to finalize their property ownership.
In a related effort, a group of 16 residents from Skytech Matrott in Sector 7x traveled to Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh festival. While there, they continued their advocacy by displaying banners protesting the registry delays. This highlights the urgency of their situation, as they seek to raise awareness beyond their local community.
The residents are calling for the implementation of the Amitabh Kant Committee report, which outlines potential solutions to the issues faced by homebuyers in Noida. They are also urging intervention from the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister to expedite the resolution of these pending registries. The residents believe that the local authorities must take decisive action, including collecting dues from builders by auctioning their properties if necessary.
Recent protests have escalated, with residents expressing dissatisfaction over the performance of professionals appointed by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) regarding the registries of Supertech Eco Village 1 and 2. Many residents feel that these officials have not made adequate progress over the past three years, leading to increased frustration and calls for accountability.
As the protests continue, the homebuyers are determined to make their voices heard. They are not only seeking resolution for their individual cases but also aiming to highlight broader systemic issues within the real estate sector in Noida.
