Synopsis

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has reportedly sold his apartment in Borivali East, Mumbai, for INR 4.35 crore. The property, situated in Oberoi Realty's Sky City project, spans 1,073 sq. ft. and includes two dedicated car parking spaces. This transaction was registered earlier this week, attracting a stamp duty of INR 26.1 lakh and registration charges amounting to INR 30,000. Market data has shown that Sky City continues to perform strongly, with 208 sale registrations between March last year and this February, amounting to INR 818 crore. Notably, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were reported to have acquired multiple units in the same project last year.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has reportedly sold his apartment in Borivali East, Mumbai, for INR 4.35 crore. The apartment is located in Sky City, a 25-acre residential development by Oberoi Realty. The ready-to-move-in project offers a mix of 3BHK, 3BHK+Studio, and duplex apartments.

As per documents accessed by Square Yards, the property registration was completed earlier this week. As per the IGR registration, the apartment spans 1,073 sq. ft. and comes with two car parking spaces. The transaction is said to have attracted a stamp duty of INR 26.1 lakh and registration charges of INR 30,000.

If sources are to be believed, Kumar had originally purchased the apartment in November 2017 for INR 2.37 crore. Having sold it now for INR 4.35 crore, the transaction reflects an 84% appreciation in value over the years. In January this year, Akshay Kumar had previously sold another unit in the same building for INR 4.25 crore.

Oberoi Sky City continues to attract significant market attention, with property transactions worth INR 818 crore recorded between March last year and February this year. The average resale rate for units in the project remains around INR 44,577 per sq. ft.

The IGR property registration records indicate that Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan had also purchased multiple units in Oberoi Sky City in May last year.

In February, Akshay Kumar along with his wife, author Twinkle Khanna, reportedly sold their luxury apartment in Mumbai's Oberoi 360 West project for INR 80 crore. The expansive 6,830 sq. ft. apartment, located on the 39th floor of the luxury residential tower in Worli, came with four car parking spaces.

Located in Western Suburbs of Mumbai, Borivali is known for attractions like Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Kanheri Caves, and popular amusement parks such as Water Kingdom and Essel World. Borivali East is particularly favoured for its abundant greenery, proximity to parks, and excellent connectivity to areas like Kandivali East, Dahisar East, and Borivali West.

Akshay Kumar's gains from both Sky City and Oberoi 360 West reflect the growing demand and rising values in premium developments across the city. Borivali East, in particular, is emerging as a sought-after destination, with Oberoi Sky City attracting significant buyer interest and recording high-value sales. These developments reinforce Mumbai's position as a competitive and lucrative real estate market for both end-users and investors.
