The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) demolished over 30 illegal encroachments near Butler Road following protests from local residents. The demolition came after the encroachers ignored several warnings to vacate the land, which is classified as nazul property. About 24 illegal structures were razed, and those involved were given an additional three days to remove their belongings, after which another drive will take place to clear any remaining encroachments. Earlier this month, more than 30 illegal encroachments were removed by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) near Balu Adda on Butler Road, in front of Dhenumati Apartment. The demolition followed protests from local residents. LDA officials mentioned that the encroachers had ignored multiple warnings to vacate the area. Under the leadership of Nazul Officer Sanjay Singh, the team demolished approximately 24 illegal structures during the operation. The encroachers had been given three days to vacate the site, and authorities warned that if they failed to comply, another drive would take place to clear any remaining structures.
LDA Secretary Vivek Srivastava explained that the land, covering about 2,59,000 square feet, is classified as nazul land, located next to the Naimisharanya guest house. Some individuals had unlawfully occupied this land, setting up tin sheds and shanties for businesses involving scrap, furniture, tyres, and hardware. Despite repeated warnings, the encroachments remained, leading to their removal. Encroachers have now been given an additional three days to vacate their belongings, after which a more intensive drive will be carried out.
