The Andhra Pradesh (AP) government has introduced a significant relief for beneficiaries of the AP Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APTidco) by waiving INR 145 crore in loan dues. The corporation is now focused on completing 4,500 pending housing units in the Jakkampudi housing layout. APTidco chairman Vemulapati Ajay Kumar confirmed that the state government will clear interest dues to banks within 15 days after resolving financial guarantee issues. Infrastructure development for the project, including roads, drainage, water, and electricity, is expected to be completed in the next year.
In a significant move to provide relief to the beneficiaries of the AP Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APTidco) housing projects, the Andhra Pradesh state government has announced a waiver of INR 145 crore on the outstanding Tidco loans. This decision directly impacts the beneficiaries across the state who were facing financial burdens due to the loans they had taken for their housing projects.
This announcement has provided a much-needed boost to the APTidco's efforts to accelerate the completion of housing projects that had been delayed. The corporation's immediate focus is now on finalizing 4,500 pending housing units within the Jakkampudi housing layout, with plans to hand over these units to the rightful beneficiaries at the earliest possible opportunity. The completion and allocation of these homes will mark an important milestone for the beneficiaries who have long been waiting for their homes.
Vemulapati Ajay Kumar, the Chairman of APTidco, revealed that the decision to waive INR 145 crore in interest dues owed by Tidco beneficiaries to banks comes as part of a broader plan by the NDA alliance-led state government. This initiative is led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. According to Kumar, the state government will make provisions to settle these outstanding dues with banks within a period of 15 days. This will happen once the remaining issues surrounding the state's finance guarantee are addressed, paving the way for the swift settlement of the dues and clearing the way for the completion of the housing projects.
In addition to addressing financial concerns, the state government is also ensuring the provision of vital infrastructure to support the newly built homes. Efforts are underway to develop essential amenities like well-constructed roads, effective drainage systems, reliable drinking water supply, and electricity infrastructure across the Tidco housing layouts. These improvements are expected to be completed within the next 12 months, ensuring that the newly constructed homes are fully equipped for residents to move in comfortably.
Furthermore, the government is not stopping with the completion of the 4,500 pending units. They have set an ambitious target to finish 8,284 more houses under Phase 1 of the Tidco housing project, which is being developed in the Jakkampudi economic city. This phase of the project is expected to significantly boost housing availability in the region, offering affordable housing solutions for many people in the state.
The overall commitment from the state government highlights its focus on improving housing infrastructure and the well-being of the citizens, especially those who had been impacted by earlier delays. By waiving the loans and ensuring the timely completion of these projects, the government aims to enhance the living standards of thousands of beneficiaries while promoting overall economic development in the region.
This move is expected to have wide-reaching positive effects, not just for those waiting for homes but for the broader community, as the completion of these housing projects will also generate employment and contribute to the local economy. With the financial relief in place and the infrastructure developments on track, the beneficiaries can look forward to a more stable and improved standard of living in the coming months.
This significant development in the Tidco housing projects signals a positive step for the beneficiaries who had long awaited the completion of their homes. With the state government's focus on infrastructure and the waiver of loan dues, the process of handing over these houses is expected to move forward swiftly. This initiative will provide much-needed relief and improve living conditions for the people in the Jakkampudi area.
