CtrlS Datacenters, Asia's largest Rated-4 datacenter company, has announced plans to develop a 40-acre Datacenter Park at the upcoming Chandanvelly Industrial Park near Hyderabad. The new facility is set to boost the company's capacity and position Hyderabad as a major hub in India's rapidly growing datacenter industry. The planned facility will have an IT load capacity of over 600 MW, significantly enhancing Hyderabad's current datacenter capacity, which is estimated at 52 MW.
India's datacenter industry is witnessing unprecedented growth, with capacity expected to surpass 1,300 MW by the end of 2024 and reach 1,800 MW by 2026. This growth is driven by rapid digital transformation, increased adoption of artificial intelligence and cloud computing, and stricter data localisation requirements. CtrlS's new park aligns with this trend, aiming to cater to the growing demand for high-performance, scalable infrastructure.
The Chandanvelly Datacenter Park will feature high-density and ultra-high-density facilities designed for advanced computing needs. The buildings will support flexible rack configurations, including ultra-high density racks of up to 135 KW per rack and immersion cooling racks capable of handling 300 KW per rack. This will make the facility AI-ready and interconnected, addressing the needs of data-driven businesses.
In its first phase, CtrlS has secured 250 MW of power for the facility, with plans to expand the capacity to 900 MW through a dedicated Gas Insulated Substation (GIS). The facility will include mission-critical operation centres, administrative offices, and collaboration spaces, ensuring seamless operations for customers.
To enhance energy efficiency, the park will utilise advanced cooling systems, including free air-cooling, direct liquid cooling, and immersion cooling. These systems aim to achieve an annual Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) between 1.12 and 1.32, with further improvements through free cooling solutions. Solar module facades will be installed on the western and southern elevations of the buildings, offering thermal regulation, green power generation, and aesthetic appeal.
CtrlS Datacenters already operates three facilities in Hyderabad, located in HITEC City and Financial District, Gachibowli. The city has emerged as one of India's fastest-growing datacenter markets, supported by its seismic zone-2 status, which makes it ideal for disaster recovery services.
The company's national portfolio includes 250 MW of datacenter capacity across major tier-1 cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Noida, and Kolkata. Additionally, CtrlS has expanded into tier-2 markets such as Patna and Lucknow with Edge datacenter facilities. Future plans include new developments in GIFT City (Ahmedabad), Bhubaneswar, and Guwahati.
Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Chairman of CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, underscored Hyderabad's strategic significance for the company's growth, highlighting Telangana's emergence as an economic powerhouse in India. He noted that the upcoming datacenter park would serve as a catalyst for data-driven and technology businesses in the region.
Pinnapureddy also conveyed appreciation for the Telangana government's support in cultivating an environment conducive to innovation and growth in the ICT sector. He emphasized that CtrlS Datacenters takes pride in contributing to Hyderabad's digital ecosystem through this state-of-the-art facility.Hyderabad's status as a premier datacenter hub is further highlighted in CBRE's Datacenter Trends report, which ranks the city among the fastest-growing markets in India. The establishment of the Chandanvelly Datacenter Park is expected to attract significant investment and strengthen the region's position as a leader in digital infrastructure.
