Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) recently conducted demolition operations on unauthorized constructions in Nerul and Ghansoli following non-compliance with issued notices. The first demolition targeted a property in Nerul, involving a large team of workers and equipment. In Ghansoli, the construction of additional floors without approval was also demolished, with a penalty of INR 50,000 imposed. NMMC continues to crack down on illegal building activities in the region.
Despite notices issued by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation's (NMMC) encroachment department, the concerned parties failed to take any action, leading to the department, under the guidance of Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde and Dr. Rahul Gethe, carrying out demolition operations against unauthorized constructions in Nerul and Ghansoli.
In the Nerul B division of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, unauthorized construction by Mr. Ramchandra Balram Thakur, the owner of house number 105 in Nerulgaon, Nerul, was demolished.
A demolition drive was conducted by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation at the site of the unauthorized construction. The operation involved 14 labourers, 5 breakers, and 2 gas cutters. The demolition was carried out with the assistance of the Deputy Commissioner and Division Officer of Nerul, along with officers and staff from the encroachment department, security personnel, and local police.
In another case in the Ghansoli division, Mr. Raju Satpute (property owner and developer) had begun unauthorized RCC construction for the ground and first floors of a building on Survey Nos. 29/30, Sector 22, Talwli Gaon, Ghansoli, without obtaining prior approval from the Municipal Corporation. The second-floor columns were also under construction. The unauthorized construction had to be removed voluntarily; however, work continued at the site.
A demolition operation was conducted on this unauthorized construction as well. The demolition involved 1 JCB Poclain and 6 workers. A penalty of INR 50,000 was also levied. Officers and staff from the Ghansoli division office and a police squad were present during the operation. Similar actions will continue to be intensified in the future.
In conclusion, the NMMC's ongoing efforts to address unauthorized constructions underline the city's commitment to maintaining legal compliance and urban safety. With further intensified actions planned, illegal builders face growing consequences, highlighting the importance of adhering to regulatory frameworks for construction in Navi Mumbai.
