The 4-kilometre section from Dum Dum Cantonment to Jai Hind has undergone extensive testing, and the Noapara-Dum Dum Cantonment segment has already received approval for commercial operations. As part of the ongoing construction, approximately 250 fire doors will be installed to enhance safety, and the installation of a travelator at Jai Hind station is set to begin soon.
Once operational, the airport metro will significantly improve accessibility for travelers. Commuters will have the option to transfer between three different Metro lines, facilitating smooth connections from various parts of the city. The Blue Line, which runs from New Garia to Dakshineswar, will connect with the East-West Metro at Esplanade, while the Orange Line will provide access from the EM Bypass area.
