The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will begin bookings for over 2,500 newly constructed flats under the second phase of the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme on November 14. Designed for economically weaker sections (EWS) and lower-income groups (LIG), the flats are priced from INR 11.5 lakh, with various offerings across locations like Rohini, Dwarka, and Narela. Following the successful first phase, the DDA aims to meet the rising demand for affordable housing. The initiative includes enhancements to local amenities, with plans for green spaces and maintenance by local municipal bodies, promoting a healthier living environment for residents.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to start bookings for newly constructed flats as part of the second phase of the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme on November 14. This initiative aims to provide affordable housing options to residents, with over 2,500 flats available across various locations in the city, including Rohini, Dwarka, Mangolpuri, Ramgarh, Loknayakpuram, and Narela.
The flats, designed for low and economically weaker sections (EWS and LIG), will be priced starting from INR 11.5 lakh. With the demand for affordable housing constantly rising in Delhi, these homes are expected to attract many prospective buyers. The flats will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and interested buyers are encouraged to register online before making a booking.
In terms of categories, the offerings include more than 250 LIG flats in Rohini, priced between INR 12 and 15.5 lakh, as well as 180 EWS flats in Mangolpuri, which are priced from INR 32 to 35 lakh. Additionally, there are about 1,800 EWS flats available in Narela, with prices ranging from INR 18 to 20 lakh. The remaining flats will be distributed across various other areas of the capital.
The current phase follows a successful first phase of the Sasta Ghar Scheme, which was launched in August. The DDA had earlier offered nearly 9,000 flats across three housing schemes: Sasta Ghar, Madhyama Vargiya, and Dwarka Housing Scheme. Reports indicate that approximately 1,650 out of these flats were sold by the end of September. Areas such as Rohini, Narela, and Ramgarh showed notable demand, prompting officials to prepare for this second phase to meet the persistent housing needs in the metropolis.
In addition to providing flats, the DDA plans to enhance the living conditions in the neighborhood. They will develop green spaces around housing pockets, ensuring the areas are clean and pleasant for residents. The DDA's horticulture department is actively working to create parks and gardens, which will not only beautify the surroundings but also contribute to a healthier living environment. Meanwhile, the authority has engaged with local municipal bodies to ensure that cleanliness and maintenance are prioritised in these new developments.
With the ongoing challenges of housing in urban areas, schemes like Sasta Ghar represent a significant effort by the DDA to address the needs of low- to middle-income families in Delhi. The launch of Phase 2 promises to continue this objective, offering buyers a chance to secure affordable homes in a bustling city. Interested individuals can find more information on the DDA's official website and are urged to take advantage of the registration process early to avoid missing out on these opportunities.
