The Ministry of Railways has approved a new 117-km railway line connecting Bihta and Anugrah Narayan Road, with an estimated cost of INR 3,606.42 crore. The East Central Railway has been tasked with executing the project, which aims to improve connectivity across Patna, Arwal, Jehanabad, and Aurangabad districts. Preparatory work, including a Rail Over Rail bridge at Bihta, will begin soon. A 13-km line from Anugrah Narayan Road to Aurangabad is already under construction. Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde, has instructed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to prepare a detailed feasibility report on constructing a tunnel linking Mumbai with the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. The tunnel would connect key hubs including the Bandra Worli Sea Link and Bandra Kurla Complex, addressing growing traffic congestion and supporting multimodal transport. Shinde also directed an evaluation to integrate the high-speed railway with Mhatardi bullet train station, linking it with Kopar railway and Taloja metro stations to strengthen seamless regional connectivity.Read more

Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) is considering extending its Phase II pink line to Kizhakkambalam to connect Infopark's upcoming Phase III campus. Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has stated that the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP), connecting southern Mizoram to the Bay of Bengal through Myanmar, is expected to be completed by 2027.
