East Central Railway is planning smart parking hubs at six stations in the Danapur division, with a total capacity for 21,500 vehicles. Stations like Patna Junction and Danapur will have capacities ranging from 1,500 to 6,000 vehicles. The DPR, currently in preparation, includes modern amenities such as air-conditioned vending halls, escalators, lifts, WiFi, digital payments, real-time tracking, and CCTV surveillance. Maharashtra Metro Railway Corporation (Maha?Metro) is preparing to issue tenders for five elevated stations on the Thane Internal Ring Metro Railway Project (IRMRP). This construction covers a 6 kilometre stretch including Dongripada, Vijay Nagari, Waghbil, Waterfront, and Patlipada stations, with a potential sixth station at Manpada or Kashinath Ghanekar depending on land availability. Officials aim to start partial operations on this stretch before the full corridor is ready. The larger 29 km, 22 station project, costing around INR 12,200 crore, is backed by the state and central governments with plans for additional revenue through asset monetisation.Read more

Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis has laid out a plan for all significant infrastructure projects in Mumbai to be completed by 2032, aiming for full city transformation within five to seven years. Northern Railway's Jammu Division has allotted multi-purpose stalls at key stations including Katra, Pathankot, Sopore and Anantnag through a large e-auction. The digital auction, led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, generated the division's highest non-fare revenue and is expected to bring in around INR 2.80 crore over the next five years. Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has started work on the detailed project report (DPR) for its Phase?III extension, linking Aluva to Angamaly through Kochi airport. The DPR, awarded to Systra MVA Consulting India at about INR?1.3?crore, is expected within six months. Preparatory work includes soil testing, topographic surveys, and temporary land marking. The 17.5 km corridor will feature both elevated and underground sections. Public feedback will be invited to align planning with community expectations. Mumbai University has commissioned a 200 kW solar-power system at its Kalina campus, covering seven key buildings, including Ambedkar Bhavan, Mehta Bhavan, and the Life Science Block. With net metering, this installation is expected to generate around 260,000 units annually and save over INR 4 lakh per month in electricity costs. The Andhra Pradesh government has approved INR 27 crore for restoring four rain-water outfall canals connected to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram district. These canals OT1, OT2, OT4 and OT5 require desilting and improvements to handle storm-water flow from the airport site. The funds will be drawn from the HUDCO-supported INR 1,000 crore loan pool. The Water Resources Department will carry out the works. The government also requires the airport's master plan to include harvesting of at least 50% of on-site storm-water. The airport is scheduled for inauguration in August 2026.Read more

Indian Railways launched two new MEMU services connecting Delhi Junction-Shamli and Delhi Shahdara-Shamli to improve mobility for commuters, students, farmers, and professionals. The inauguration was led by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and MoS Jayant Chaudhary at Baraut station. Shamli station is being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of INR 25 cr. Since 2014, Uttar Pradesh has added 5,272 km of rail tracks, fully electrified its lines, built over 1,460 flyovers/bridges, and installed lifts, escalators, and Wi-Fi across many stations.Read more
