Merino Shelters, a MAN Industries subsidiary, has partnered with Paradise Group to develop its 6-acre land in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, over six years. The deal includes an upfront payment of INR 70 crore and 30% of the RERA carpet area, valued at INR 650-INR 700 crore. The total monetisation is estimated at INR 770 crore. The land, near DY Patil Stadium and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, offers strong growth potential. MAN Industries aims to monetise non-core assets, while Paradise Group sees high development prospects.

The trademark dispute between Abhishek Lodha-led Macrotech Developers and his younger brother's House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) has intensified, with Macrotech alleging that HoABL fabricated documents to misuse its brand and trademarks. In a regulatory filing, Macrotech claimed that forged board resolutions were submitted to government authorities, featuring falsified signatures and altered PAN card details. Lodha Ventures denied the allegations, stating it is reviewing the matter internally. The dispute follows a INR 5,000 crore lawsuit filed by Macrotech against HoABL over the unauthorised use of the 'Lodha' brand.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has set up a four-member committee to oversee the completion of stalled Jaypee projects along the Yamuna Expressway, benefiting 4,600 stranded homebuyers. The committee will issue a request for proposals to select developers and ensure homebuyers receive properties at the original prices. A High Court ruling mandates strict timelines for project completion, with a nodal officer appointed to manage payments and ensure construction funds. Affected projects include Jaypee Greens Bougainvilleas, Country Homes, and others.

In a recent event in Madurai, 100 construction workers were given housing allocation orders by the Tamil Nadu government. The initiative, coordinated by the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers' Welfare Board, also provided welfare benefits worth INR 82.17 lakh to 1,121 workers. With over 80,000 registered workers, the board has disbursed INR 108 crore in assistance since 2021, ensuring social security for construction workers and unorganized laborers across the state.

Residents of Dharavi have been given until April 15 to submit their documents for verification to determine if they qualify for free housing within the redevelopment zone or rental housing outside it. Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt Ltd has tasked the Dharavi Redevelopment Project/Slum Rehabilitation Authority (DRP/SRA) with the survey. The move comes amid opposition from local political parties, with nearly 63,000 out of 95,000 structures already submitting documents. The redevelopment master plan is expected soon.

The NCR-based M3M Group, a luxury real estate developer, is set to fully repay its INR 1300 crore loan from Indiabulls by the first quarter of 2025. The loan was used for the purchase and development of the M3M City project in Panipat. Having already repaid INR 802 crore, the company plans to pay an additional INR 331 crore by March 31, 2025, leaving a remaining INR 167 crore to be cleared within Q1 2025. This repayment will make the group debt-free, reflecting its strong financial discipline. The project, M3M City of Dreams, is the group's first major venture in a Tier-2 city.

Odisha CM Shri Mohan Charan Majhi launched the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana in Kalahandi, aiming to provide housing for the poorest sections of society. The scheme aims to construct 5 lakh houses over three years, with an investment of INR 7,550 crore. Each beneficiary will receive INR 1.2 lakh, and additional essential services like sanitation, cooking gas, and electricity will be provided. The scheme prioritises families affected by critical diseases, disasters, and those in need of immediate housing.

MHADA will construct 19,497 housing units in FY 2025-26, allocating INR 9,202.76 crore to address Maharashtra's housing needs. Mumbai tops the list with 5,199 units and INR 5,749.49 crore earmarked, including INR 2,800 crore for BDD chawl redevelopment. Other allocations include 9,902 units in Konkan, 1,836 in Pune, and 1,608 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Redevelopment projects in Jogeshwari, Bandra, and Goregaon are also funded. MHADA has submitted redevelopment plans for three slums in Jogeshwari, Chembur, and Kurla under a joint initiative with the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA). These projects, governed by Regulation 33(10) of the Development Control and Promotion Regulations 2034, aim to rehabilitate slum dwellers while MHADA handles construction and financing. Various government agencies have been assigned stalled slum redevelopment projects, with the SRA expediting surveys and relocation. The initiative aligns with Mumbai's broader vision of slum rehabilitation and affordable housing to support its goal of achieving a USD 1 trillion economy by 2030.

Office leasing activity across India's top seven markets reached 15.9 million square feet in Q1 2025, marking a 15% year-on-year increase, according to a Colliers report. Bengaluru and Delhi NCR led leasing activity, with Chennai recording a remarkable 93% surge. Grade A office absorption grew in most cities, except Hyderabad and Kolkata, which saw declines. New supply stood at 9.9 million square feet, with major contributions from Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Pune. Conventional workspaces accounted for 86% of the demand, while flex space leasing grew by 22%. The technology sector remained the largest driver of office demand.
