Jakson Group has begun its INR 8,000-crore investment to build a 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. The project's first phase, for which groundwork was laid earlier this past week, includes 3 GW of cell and 4 GW of module manufacturing capacity. Over the next three years, the company plans to develop 6 GW capacities each for ingot, wafer, cell and solar modules, creating about 4,000 jobs. Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually inaugurated five industrial units in Sri City during the 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, while the state signed agreements for 12 new projects worth INR 2,320 crore across engineering, food processing and pharmaceuticals. These ventures are expected to create 12,365 jobs. Naidu said Sri City had become India's leading industrial township, home to global manufacturers like Daikin, Isuzu and Cadbury, and noted that Andhra Pradesh has already cleared INR 8.8 lakh crore in investments from several countries. Inox Wind Ltd has received a 100 MW turbine supply order from a major green-energy transition platform for its projects in Gujarat. An auction held this past week in Mumbai for 11 properties belonging to fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim saw no bidders turning up. The Income Tax Department had organised the sale to recover part of Dawood's pending tax dues, estimated at around INR 45 crore. The properties, located mainly in south Mumbai's Nagpada and Mohammed Ali Road areas, carried a combined reserve price of INR 1.2 crore and an assessed value of nearly INR 5 crore.
