Noida Authority has taken strict action against Skytech Construction Pvt Ltd for defaulting on payments related to its Skytech Matrott group housing project in Sector 76. Despite several notices, the builder failed to clear over INR 30 crore in outstanding dues. The Authority sealed 27 unsold flats at the project under the direction of its CEO, Lokesh M. The developer failed to utilise the state government's rehabilitation policy for stalled projects, resulting in non-compliance. In Sector 79, Noida, 44 residents of Gaursons Sportswood have filed a writ petition under Article 226 in the Allahabad High Court, seeking the registration of flats handed over five years ago. The delay stems from unresolved issues within the Sports City initiative, launched in 2010, requiring 70% of the land for sports infrastructure. A 2019 CAG audit revealed irregularities, leading the Noida Authority to freeze approvals for occupancy certificates and registries in 2021. Despite Gaursons receiving a temporary completion certificate and a no dues certificate, the freeze persists, leaving buyers unable to sell or transfer properties. Petitioners argue this infringes on their fundamental rights and cite UP-RERA guidelines supporting their claims. The next hearing is set for January 10, 2025. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed that construction projects in Greater Noida and Noida lacking the necessary environmental clearances should be halted. The NGT's order mandates that projects lacking the required Consent to Establish (CTE), Consent to Operate (CTO), and Environmental Clearance (EC) cannot proceed. The Greater Noida Development Authority (GDA) is set to acquire 490 hectares from eight villages for the INR 10,000 crore Harnandipuram township project. The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has prepared a list of 615 farmers from seven villages to allocate developed residential plots within a month. This follows the recommendations of a committee formed earlier this year, which was tasked with addressing farmers' demands. The committee's report has been submitted, and GNIDA is now putting its plan into action. On December 7, top officials met to discuss the implementation, and GNIDA's CEO has directed the land records department to fast-track the process. Despite an initial payment of INR 3.2 crore, the company failed to settle the remaining amount, which accrued significant penal interest. The land, valued at INR 450 crore today, remained unused for six years. Noida Authority plans to re-allot the plot to recover dues and has filed a case with the NCLT and a complaint with the EOW against Logix Group. Spanning 209.11 sq. km across 80 villages in Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr, the project will be executed in four phases, with the first phase targeting 3,165 hectares by 2027. Part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), the DNGIR Master Plan 2041 allocates 40% for industrial use, 13% for residential, and 18% for green spaces. A recent inspection by the groundwater department revealed that 140 out of 164 residential societies in Noida and Greater Noida had non-functional rainwater harvesting systems, with 10 lacking the systems entirely. Only 14 societies were found to have operational systems. The Noida Authority, after meeting with the groundwater department, decided to issue notices to all societies, providing them with 15 days to comply.
