An INR 83 crore railway overbridge at Jamunamukh in Assam's Hojai district was inaugurated this past week. The 951-metre structure, with a 7.5-metre wide motorable stretch, is aimed at easing movement between Dabaka, Kampur and Jamunamukh railway stations. Alongside the launch, the state government opened new community facilities and a model high school at tea estates, and initiated flood-protection works valued at around INR 80 crore for areas affected by the Kopili River. Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out a demolition drive in the Belapur ward earlier this week after the property owner failed to act on an earlier notice issued under MRTP Section 53(1A). Acting on directions from the civic chief and in compliance with an order of the Additional District Court, the encroachment department removed an unauthorised sheet structure at a residential unit in Kukreja Estate, Sector 11. ECoR has completed the breakthrough of Tunnel No.35, a 630 metre tunnel between Sikarpai and Keutguda stations on the Koraput-Singapur Road doubling project, achieving full alignment accuracy. The milestone highlights precise engineering and coordinated work by senior officials and construction teams. Once the doubling project is fully operational, rail capacity and connectivity on the Koraput-Rayagada section are expected to improve significantly. The MMRDA recently lowered India's largest 13.34?metre TBM at the Thane shaft a significant step for the Thane-Borivali twin tunnel project beneath Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The Gujarat government has cleared a long-pending infrastructure request from Moddar, a remote village in Porbandar district. The Central Government has resolved to develop Belgaria Township in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, into a model township to rehabilitate families displaced by underground coal-mine fires and land subsidence. IndianOil Total Pvt Ltd (ITPL), a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation and TotalEnergies Marketing Services SAS, has started operations at its new greenfield bitumen derivatives plant in Gummidipoondi near Chennai. The Warangal railway manufacturing unit is under construction and expected to be completed in 2026.
