Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of RTX, has opened a new advanced manufacturing facility in Bengaluru with an investment of USD 100 million. The centre, spread over 26 acres at KIADB Aerospace Park, will produce seats, lighting and cargo systems, temperature sensors, communication and navigation equipment, and evacuation slides for global markets. BirlaNu, part of the CKA Birla Group, announced earlier this week that it had entered into an agreement to acquire Clean Coats Pvt Ltd, a coatings and specialised construction chemicals manufacturer, for up to INR 120 crore. Petronas, Enilive, and Euglena have started constructing a new biorefinery in Pengerang, Malaysia, to produce sustainable fuels for the Asian market. The facility will process up to 650,000 tonnes of renewable feedstock each year, including waste oils, animal fats, and processing residues, generating Sustainable Aviation Fuel, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, and bio-naphtha. Operations are expected to begin in the second half of 2028. Tidel Park Limited, backed by the Tamil Nadu government, has partnered with Trichy Corporation to develop a major IT and ITES hub in Panjapur, Trichy. A special purpose vehicle, Tidel Park Trichy Limited, has been formed to oversee the INR 462.5 crore project. The corporation leased 14.1 acres near the KKBT junction for 45 years in exchange for equity worth INR 23.7 crore, while Tidel Park holds a 74.4% stake. Construction has begun, with 10% of pile work completed. Coal India Limited (CIL) has partnered with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) to jointly expand the Chandrapura Thermal Power Station in Jharkhand, in a project worth nearly INR 21,000 crore. The two entities will share equity equally and develop two ultra-supercritical units of 800 MW each, adding 1,600 MW of capacity. Coal for the project will be supplied by CIL�s subsidiary, Central Coalfields Limited, with operations targeted to begin by FY 2031-32. Leveraging existing infrastructure, the brownfield project aims to ensure cost efficiency and timely execution. State-owned NBFC REC Ltd approved INR 7,500 crore in funding for a 1.04 GW hybrid solar-wind project in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, being developed by Evren, a joint venture in which Brookfield Asset Management holds a 51.49 % stake. The total investment in the project is estimated at INR 9,910 crore. Evren has already mapped over 3 GW of projects in the state. Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation has started building a large urea production facility in western Turkmenistan, valued at more than USD 1.3 billion. The Ministry of Steel has rolled out the third phase of its Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for speciality steel, named �PLI 1.2�, aiming to draw new investment and drive domestic production of high-value steel grades in sectors such as defence, aerospace, power and infrastructure. IMFA has signed binding agreements to acquire Tata Steel's ferro-chrome plant in Kalinganagar, Odisha, for INR 610 crore, marking a major expansion in its production capacity. Declining steel prices are causing serious issues for smaller producers at a time when India is planning large-scale capacity additions.
