VA Tech WABAG has received a repeat design-build-operate order valued between USD 30 million and USD 75 million from Nepal's Melamchi Water Supply Development Board. NTPC Renewable Energy has started commercial supply from 75.50 MW of the 1,255 MW Khavda-I solar PV project in Gujarat, raising the NTPC group's total installed capacity to 84,924 MW. The Karnataka government will develop a 200-acre semiconductor park within the upcoming 5,000-acre KWIN City near Bengaluru, aiming to strengthen its position in advanced manufacturing and next-generation technologies. The Central Government has approved 17 projects under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), opening up investment commitments of INR 7,172 crore and creating more than 11,800 jobs. The selected applicants include Jabil, Aequs, AT&S, Uno Minda, Zetwerk, Secure Meters and others, with production spanning camera modules, multi-layer PCBs, enclosures, connectors, oscillators and optical transceivers. These projects, spread across nine states, are expected to generate output worth INR 65,111 crore. Combined with the first tranche cleared earlier, ECMS now covers 24 projects. Kerala has asked Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) to transfer five acres of land at its Coconut Research Station in Balaramapuram to Kerala State Industrial Enterprises (KSIE) for a logistics hub meant to support Vizhinjam Port. The land lies about 5.4 km from the port gate and is suitable for container truck access. KSIE's plan includes more than 50,000 sq ft of warehousing, a container freight station, internal roads, offices and value-added logistics facilities.
