Sri Lankan shares closed lower in the latest session as losses in energy and real estate stocks outweighed gains in IT stocks. The CSE All-Share index declined 0.34% to 21,344.77. SMB Finance PLC and Eastern Merchants PLC were the biggest percentage losers on the index, falling 33.3% and 7.6%, respectively. Trading volume increased to 67.1 million shares from 50.3 million in the previous session. Market turnover also rose sharply to 16.85 billion Sri Lankan rupees, while foreign investors remained net sellers and domestic investors were net buyers.Read more
