Synopsis

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has signed a lease agreement with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to set up its state office in Amaravati. The land, measuring 1.43 acres in Venkatapalem village, has been allotted on a 33-year lease. The party is required to begin construction within three months and complete it within four years. The development is expected to support Amaravati's growth as an administrative centre. The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional presence in the planned capital region.

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has executed a lease agreement with the Bharatiya Janata Party for setting up its state office in Amaravati. The agreement was formalised in the past week as part of ongoing efforts to build administrative infrastructure in the capital city.

The proposed office will function as the party's state headquarters and will support its administrative and organisational activities in Andhra Pradesh. The development is expected to add to the institutional framework being planned in Amaravati, which is being positioned as the state's primary governance hub.

For this purpose, APCRDA has allotted around 1.43 acres of land in Venkatapalem village, located within the Amaravati Capital City area. The land has been given on a leasehold basis for a period of 33 years, in line with existing government policies and planning guidelines. Similar long-term lease allocations have previously been made to various institutions, government bodies, and organisations as part of the capital city development plan.

As per the agreement conditions, the BJP is required to begin construction within three months of signing the lease and complete the project within four years. The construction must follow approved building plans and comply with all applicable development regulations. These timelines are in line with APCRDA's broader approach to ensure timely utilisation of allotted land parcels in the capital region.

The agreement was signed by Jubin Cheeran Roy, Joint Director (Estates), on behalf of APCRDA. The BJP was represented by Pokala Vamsi Nagendra Madhav, who is serving as the party's Andhra Pradesh state president.

Officials from APCRDA indicated that the establishment of institutional offices, including political party headquarters, is an important step in shaping Amaravati's administrative ecosystem. They conveyed that such developments are expected to strengthen the city's role as a centre for governance and public administration.

Amaravati has been under phased development, with multiple government and institutional projects being planned or revived in recent months. The addition of political and administrative offices is seen as part of efforts to activate the region and attract more organised activity.
